Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
Welcome to the Academy of Innovative Technology High School!
I am honored to serve as the principal of this amazing school, where we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. AoITHS believes in the empowerment of our youth in order to help them become responsible citizens that hold themselves accountable within their school community and beyond. It is my hope that you will strive to fulfill this mission and vision while attending AoIT.
At AoIT, we strive to support our students’ social emotional well being by establishing a foundational support system that starts with each student having a trusted adult in crew and continuing to build relationships with students and teachers to create a supportive school environment, resulting in improved collaborative and trusting relationships to foster student voice.
We are committed to ensuring that all students feel safe, supported, and valued within our school community. We prioritize social-emotional development and have established a positive and inclusive school culture where every student can thrive. Our caring staff members are here to listen, guide, and mentor students on their educational journey, instilling in them the confidence and resilience needed to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Furthermore, as educators we strive to push student thinking and support independence. Our teachers are self-reflective, culturally responsive educators, who examine their biases, focus on the strengths of our students, and make sure that our students see themselves in the curriculum. In doing so, students will become partners in their learning and growth as they prepare for their post-secondary experience. By building literacy, students will also gain the intellect and knowledge to navigate their lives.
Lastly, our school is also committed to embracing technology as a tool to enhance learning and prepare students for the future. We provide access to cutting-edge resources and digital platforms to support 21st-century skills development and ensure our students are well-equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. As well, all students are enrolled in a rigorous 4-year CTE pathway that provides them access to Game Design, Web Design, Networking/Cybersecurity, and Game Design Coursework. It is the expectation that all students at AoIT graduate with a CTE endorsed diploma, technical assessment, and internship on their resume.
